I'm A Good Listener
Music is subjective. Music is subject to criticism. Music is my favorite subject. I subject myself to fabulous music every day.

Spotify Says: If I like Meeting Places, I will love "Candy Claws." Huh?
Candy Claws is a cool name I guess.
The coolness, however, doesn't carry over regarding their oevre. For example, every song on the album has a title with a parenthetical title following the first title (title.) What is that?
The vocals are so washed out that I become annoyed that I cannot understand what is going on. This is from someone who never understands vocals even when they are clear as day, but I do suspect there is some covering up going on. This band reminds me of Broadcast but a more washed out, sand in the bathing suit version. I put up with it, but it is slightly uncomfortable.
I will not be starring this or adding the playlist to my library. I appreciate that they were inspired by nature according to their bio, but I hoped nature's soundtrack provided me more satisfaction(satisfaction.)
I give this one a Huh?

Some could say I have a music obsession, a hunger for novelty, and an insatiable desire to discover the undiscovered. In the past my music budget was slightly obnoxious because the new music monster needed to be fed. Along came Spotify. I spend a small amount to listen to AS MUCH as I want, wherever I want.
I remember when Pandora started out, I signed up but found it frustrating that nothing I wanted to listen to was in their database. I demanded more, and Spotify seemed to be the only ones catering to the independent set. Spotify had what I wanted, but would recommend such ridiculous things for me that I ignored any of their features except for the Pitchfork application and the Songkick Concerts feature where all artists you follow on Spotify come up in your concert feed which RULES. Remember having to look in the paper for shows? All the legwork is done for you.
Spotify has really ramped up their product by the "Discover" feature. I imagine my mirror image working hard to find me music I would enjoy - and so far most of the time they succeed. This struck me as an interesting way to write about music. Some days my "discover" page misses the mark or makes me laugh. Sometimes I find something SO good I feel desperate to share.
Summing it up, here I am. I will share my thoughts about what is recommended to me and hope that some small population of this POP music soaked world of mediocrity gives a shit.
